Oye! Oye! I perused the local T.O.Night magazine and spotted a teeny tiny article about a new store that has just opened on Queen St. West here in Toronto, called Design Republic. It’s a new trendy store with knock-offs of sofas, tables, chairs and art, all at reasonable prices, and is very welcomed to the strip. Go take a look at their great pieces!

This weekend, I popped by Studio b’s new pop-up retail store at 1860 Bayview Ave. Pop-up retail is a new fad, where a store opens a new location for only a few weeks or months at a time, sometimes only featuring one section of their products! Studio b’s pop-up shop is only open for 5 months, from now until September, roughly, and only focuses on their outdoor furniture. It showcases some of my favourite luxury outdoor furniture companies such as DEDON, Brown Jordan and Extremis among others. Go quickly before the showroom disappears!
Originally featured in Canadian Interiors in 2006, this ultra-modern house located here in Toronto was designed and belongs to Elaine Cecconi, one of the partners in the award-winning Canadian design firm, Cecconi Simone. This 4 storey, 4,000 sq. ft. home is absolutely stunning and uses some of my favourite materials such as Corian, honed concrete floors and Brazilian Ipe perfectly and flawlessly. With a flexible floor plan with 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms, the house was “designed to mimic an industrial warehouse or factory” and it is perfect for family living and/or professional use. Oh, and did I mention it is for sale?
